Ultimate Shear Resistance of Non-rigid End Post Steel Plate Girders

Several theories are available in the literature to predict ultimate shear resistance of plate girders, generally known as tension field theories. It is already found out, by many researchers, that prediction majority models mostly over-conservative for non-rigid end post steel girders. So, there a need development accurate finite element models, which could strength better than theoretical models. This paper makes comparison between 12 from experimental data literature, and some prominent such Basler’s model, Cardiff Hӧglund’s model. There factors affect girders geometric imperfections, material nonlinearity, boundary conditions. All these be addressed arrive at an improved analysis, can accurately girder. comprehensively describes includes selection initial imperfection, type, meshing analysis methodology, etc.
